About me

Biography

Fura Chhamzi Sherpa, I'm (born 1988)  a Nepali Sherpa entrepreneur and was born a healthy child in a middle-class Sherpa family in Nepal on October 21, 1988. When I was two years old I almost suffered an early death. But there was a miracle. I didn’t die. Unfortunately, I lost the use of my legs. The doctor could not find out my problem. my treatment was stopped but in 1997 I went to Japan] with my papa. The doctor found the reason why I was unable to walk. It was spinal meningitis. He suggested that I needed risky brain surgery, but I would have a 50% chance of survival, a 25% chance to be permanently mentally disabled and overall a 25% chance to walk again. Ultimately my parents couldn’t risk and decided not to do brain surgery. Then I was sent back to Nepal but was better than before. After returning from Japan I started to go to school. The Japanese decided to pay my tuition fees. It was not easy to go to school and come home due to my disability. I faced a lot of problems during my school life. Actually, due to my disability, I couldn’t complete my education. I was in depression. But her uncle Kami Rita Sherpa came to me and said:” its ok getting graduated should not the only your goal being independent should be your goal to be achieved.” I was confused with his words. I looked at him strangely. He understood me and with a smile on his face he replied to me “We Sherpa, we are related to mountain your grandfather, father, and uncle also worked in this sector without education but you have a plus point you are educated.” So after my uncle’s advice, she started my own business Khumbu Nangpaa Trekking And Expedition.pvt.ltd.  Nevertheless, I've been facing a lot of problems due to my disabled legs for a long time. However, today she is a capable tour operator in Nepal just because of her uncle Kami Rita Sherpa.

What is Life to me?

Life, to me, is an opportunity. We all have a lot of good opportunities in our life. Like most people, we all taken some and missed some. But being able to take advantage of as many opportunities as possible is important. Sometimes just one opportunity can mean the difference between an extraordinary life and a mediocre one. Unfortunately, opportunities don’t last forever. But the good news is that you can take steps to make sure you don’t miss out on something truly life-changing. Taking advantage of opportunities in life starts with simply saying yes to them when they come around. On April 25th, 2015 a 7.9 earthquake hit in Nepal which caused a massive loss in Nepal. On that day there were her two Spanish friends for their cycling trek to Nepal. It was at the end of their trek when there was a big hit of the earthquake in Nepal. So, for their safety, they went to their embassy for help and were sent back to Spain the next day. So, after they get back to Spain they text her saying they will help she & her family to go Spain but I replied: “My village is in pain it’s not a good idea to go Spain & enjoy for 2 months instead if you can then please send me the money expected to be used by us if we went Spain”. So in this way, I start collecting funds. It was very hard to collect funds because it was my 1st time & most of the people didn’t trust & said a handicap helping people & laugh at her but I didn’t give up. I believe in “when there is a will there is the way”. So with the help of my family & friends inside Nepal and outside Nepal, she was able to do something for my village at Thami which gave me inner peace & happiness. Then after that, I did Rastriya Secondary School (Donation 2018)Fura’s Crochet World Donation (2018), Days for Girls (washable pad donation) 2018Shree National Basic School(2018). Saying yes to yourself also helps. Great opportunities often come from your own great ideas so don’t say no to them. If you’re negative about yourself, you’ll just limit your own options. This is not a good state of mind to be in.  The meaning of life is different for different people. Life is not just birth and then death but it means having a certain goal. Our life is every time confusing and tragic.

What is education to me?

Education to me is the gateway to success. Success] can be achieved when people have knowledg], skills, and attitude. Without education, there is no difference between human beings and animals. So it is our basic need in today’s world. According to my experience, uneducated people in today’s world is just like a blind person. So I don’t consider myself a handicap because today is a capable tour operator in Nepal & standing here just because of my education. My aim is to work independently with others and help to increase female education in my country Nepal. Nepal is a male-dominated country that provides very little scope for the female to assert their identity. My objective is to reduce illiteracy, poverty, and early marriage.  She is looking for sponsors or financial grants information and sources to finance this girl’s education in her country.
